Bring Forth Initiative

Since 2008, Daniel Kline of Bring Forth Urban Farm has been producing a variety of local produce such as lettuce, salad greens, microgreens, daylilies, and more. Mostly built on his own, Dan’s farm includes 6+ outdoor beds, a greenhouse, and a basement growing operation. While he receives help from occasional volunteers for physical work like harvesting, weeding, etc., the philosophy, “organic” processes, and technical knowledge are the fruit of Dan’s many years of self-taught expertise.

In his own words, “Bring Forth Urban Farm is a visionary farm that promotes the idea of ‘optimization of the whole’” What this means is educating oneself so as to maximize quality and yield at every step of the growing process from the soil, seed, and nutrients to the final harvest.

In its current state, Dan’s farm has the potential for success in its various ventures with Dan’s expertise to support its vision. However, there are logistical and labor shortages that prevent peak performance. Of no fault of Dan’s, these shortcomings are causing a progressive accumulation of incomplete tasks.

Blue Group’s vision in how we help Dan and his business is to fill the labor gap so that Dan’s weekly revenue increases. An increased revenue stream paired with increased regular labor will offer more capital to stimulate long-term growth. Our goal is to double Dan’s regular human resources in 3 months and increase Bring Forth Urban Farm’s weekly revenue by at least 50% in 9 months.
